Senior photos are some of my favorite sessions to do. Each senior is so unique and I love working with them to create photos that truly encapsulate their last year of high school.

Zoë wanted her photos to showcase her edgy, moodier side which was so fun to play around with. We decided on two different locations to achieve this vision. The first part of her session was street style inspired. Lots of New York City vibes filled her Pinterest board so we went to the closest thing we could get to skyscrapers In the middle of Nebraska – Downtown.

We started the session off in Downtown Omaha with Zoë in a plaid mini skirt and the cutest bright red kitten heels. She strutted around the streets, popping in and out of random stores that caught our eyes. We had so much fun just playing around with different locations and trying to showcase Zoë’s fierce attitude. Some of our stops included a telephone booth, staircases and allies, a vinyl shop, and any cool vehicle we found parked on the street. Zoë killed the first part of the shoot and I am so happy with how these turned out.

The second part of Zoë’s session was outdoorsy, eerie, and dark. We shot this portion of the photos at Zorinsky Lake, at a small little side pond which was perfect. We waited till later in the evening, skipping over golden hour and getting right into blue hour. Once it was a bit too dark, I added my flash which gave such a fun, creepy vibe which is exactly what Zoë was wanting. The direct flash illuminated her and blacked out the rest of the photo which made it seem even later than it actually was. Zoë frolicked around and contemplated getting into the pond before we decided it was too gross and some photos near it would suffice lol.

Overall I am extremely pleased with how this session turned out. It was quite a bit different and darker than how I normally edit but this was such a fun experience and I am so glad I was able to branch out creatively. Zoë, you are a dream and I had the best time shooting with you! Everyone else, I hope you enjoy the photos.
