One thing about me is I love a good mountain. There is something so special about being so tiny compared to your surroundings. Growing up in Nebraska, as you would imagine, my landscapes were very flat, as far as the eye can see. During a trip to Salt Lake City this past summer, I knew I would be upset with myself if I didn’t get to capture the beauty of the massive rocks surrounding me. 

I contacted a fellow photographer that I knew had recently moved there, and asked if he knew of any couples who would be interested in modeling for me. He introduced me to Valerie and Phen and the photos we took are some of my favorites to this day. We spent about an hour running around the mountains having so much fun and not only did I walk away with a full heart and full SD card, I also found friendship with these two and I am so happy I did. 

Salt Lake City is a place I have visited only twice in my life but it is a city I know I will never stop visiting. The creative community and breathtaking landscapes make it an oasis for photographers like me who want to capture emotion and beauty all in one place. I can’t wait to visit again, in fact, I’m going to go look up flights right now. Enjoy these photos.
