What better way to take your engagement photos than by bar hopping around downtown Kansas City and ending the night with kisses under the moonlight. Carly and Neil have the purest love and I was so happy to be able to tag along on their KC adventures.
We started the evening with drinks at Mean Mule Distilling Co. where we got tap margs and classic cocktails. At Mean Mule, the atmosphere is cool and the drinks are bold and innovative. The location in KCMO is a tasting room and is a very intimate setting. Because of that, I emailed one of the owners, Meg, ahead of time to make sure we were okay to shoot there and we were all cleared. We started the evening there and got some cute photos at the bar and a seating area, but we were very limited with space and the tasting room was filling up. We finished our spicy margs and decided to take the night elsewhere.
Carly and Neil met in KC and King G was a bar they frequented often. It also happened to be a couple of blocks away so we stopped in for another round of drinks and photos. These photos ended up being exactly what I was hoping for. We were in a secluded area of the bar with a beautiful ambiance and I am so happy with how these turned out.
Following our mini bar crawl, we headed to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art for some romantic, sunset portraits. We lost light early due to a cloudy night, but I think the moodiness added to the vibe even more. These photos were everything I was hoping for and I am so happy with how this engagement session turned out. Can’t wait to get these two married next year!
