Summer Engagement Session – Lauren + Andrew

When I say perfect day, it doesn’t get much more perfect than this. The weather was perfect, light was doing its thing, and the love was flowing easily between Lauren and Andrew. For this engagement session, we kept it simple and focused on the couple by shooting in a location that was pretty much greenery and trees the whole time. As the sun went down behind the trees, it created rich sun rays that flooded in and lit the area beautifully.

Lauren and Andrew wore simple outfits consisting of a flowy white dress for her and a white button up and jeans for him. I love this look because it is so timeless and allows the focus to be on the couple and their connection. This is also a great go-to outfit for couples who aren’t too sure what to wear, because it works well with a variety of different locations and can be accessorized in ways that fit the couple’s personal style.

Something I think is so important when planning your engagement session, is making sure to incorporate a unique aspect of your relationship in some way. For Lauren and Andrew, it was wearing cowboy boots for the second half of their photos. They are a sweet Nebraska couple who spend lots of time in their boots and Lauren wanted to showcase that. Besides the boots, they opted to spend the rest of their session barefoot which gave such a casual, care-free feeling to their photos that I loved capturing. The night was a great representation of the two of them and their relationship.

Overall, an amazing night spent with amazing people, and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in 2025.
